They are looking for firefighters that can work three 24 hour shifts responding with Moorhead supervisory personnel and fire apparatus operators to calls for service in the City of Moorhead. They are not looking for officers or fire apparatus operators. No apparatus is being requested.

The tentative time frame is March 24 – April 14. The actual dates will depend on the weather.

Re request is for:

  • 5 – 6 firefighters per day
  • 24 hour shifts
  • 2 – 3 shifts in a row
  • Arriving 12 hours prior to shift for orientation to apparatus, streets, procedures, etc.
  • Firefighter qualifications:
  1. Firefighter II
  2. EMT
  3. Haz Mat Operations
  • Firefighters responding to the request must provide:
  1. SCBA or Compatible Scott Mask
  2. Firefighting PPE
  3. Personal items
  • Sleeping bag

  • Teddy Bear
  • Etc.
  • Moorhead will provide lodging and meals at the assigned fire station.

The actual deployment will be at the direction of the SFMD Fire Desk in the State EOC once a formal request is received, through the appropriate channels, from Morehead.

Each deploying agency will be given a “work order” number prior to deployment. This will ensure that only the designated agencies are deployed. Agencies or individuals self deploying will be sent home.
